The Reader Plan is an educational intervention project that includes the set of strategies that will be implemented at IE Vicente Cañada Blanch for the development of reading and writing skills of students as well as the promotion of reading habits. This 2018-2019 Reading Plan for IE Vicente Cañada Blanch is framed within and complies with the legal provisions in force.

Organic Law 2/2006, of 3 May, on Education, modified by Organic Law 8/2013, of 9 December, for the improvement of educational quality, establishes that, in Infant Education, a first approach to reading will be encouraged; Primary Education presents the development of reading habits as one of its objectives; in Compulsory Secondary Education, the habit of reading is promoted and, finally, in High School, the aim is to strengthen this habit.

The LOMCE insists that the practice of reading must be carried out in all the subjects and areas of the curriculum, disassociating it from the subject of Language and Literature. This plan coordinates all educational action concerning the treatment of reading in all areas, as well as its evaluation.
